Walnuts Are Drugs, Says FDA

Most of you received my link to the petition to support turning the farm bill into a food bill http://action.ewg.org/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=1926&utm_source=farmbillpetition&utm_medium=email&utm_content=first-link&utm_campaign=farm

So, my trusty agents have been working overtime and found this article.

OK, so it’s not just absurd that the FDA interprets law to classify walnuts as drugs, but a remarkable if continued and progressive incursion of the Federal government into virtually every aspect of our lives.
However, I’m really trying to stick to Health issues in this Newsletter.

I have said it before, and will repeat. It is no longer possible to show a little common sense and live healthy. You MUST proactively educate yourself and make choices that involve energy (reading labels and going to the Farmer’s market, getting involved politically), finances (highly overblown, you can live all natural and pay your doctor cash and it’s not near as much money as the Luddites would like to scare you into believing), and choices (that can make you unpopular with your Luddite friends and “conventional” MDs).
This is difficult, I know, …. but …. there is great news …. stupid conformity, poor health and overweight are NOT contagious. You can stand next to these people all day and still be fit, smart, successful and informed.

You just have to be willing to work for it.

Ready for more heavy lifting? Go to this link and start using this nutrition program to do a diet diary meticulously (3 days minimum) and learn a bit about your nutrition. http://cronometer.com/download/
I use the original “in computer” version, but it doesn’t matter. This is the same one that I use for in office nutritional counseling. You miss the expert interpretation of results and the diet/menu plan followup up, but it’s a great starting tool.
It’s hard to believe that I used to charge $25 for the complete Nutrition management program. Now I charge $250. Most of the Diet experts I know charge about $2500. I may have to raise my rates soon!
